“Physiologically, if the sperm is in the vagina, a pregnancy can occur, regardless of the circumstances of how that sperm got there.” — Dr. Melisa Holmes, an ob-gyn and founder of Girlology
Akin and Pregnancy: Yes, It Can Happen to Rape Victims
Rep. Todd Akin from Missouri recently suggested that a woman’s body can prevent pregnancy during rape.
When a viable sperm penetrates a viable egg inside a woman’s reproductive tract, the result is a fertilized egg that can then implant in the uterus. That fact of life is consistent regardless of how that sperm and egg met up, including whether or not the sperm was ejaculated during rape.

“The question then comes, ‘Is it God’s highest desire, that is, his biblically expressed will, … to have a woman rule the institutions of the family, the church, and the state?’ ” Johnson’s email said.
Johnson, who remains on Santorum’s staff, complained that the email was “blown out of proportion” and should not be held against him because it was sent from a personal email account.
But he refused to back away from the substance of the email, saying “I was sharing my personal reflections with a friend…[T]hey were reflections on over 25 years of formal, theological study [based in] classical Christian doctrine.”
The BACHMANN campaign is complaining of misogyny from the GOP. Bachmann.
When the Republicans are not being racist, or homophobic, or engaging in class warfare, you can always find them busy being misogynistic. They are consistent in their uselessness.
I just want to point out that Earth’s earliest civilizations were not only ruled by women, but also worshiped female deities. (We’re talking many, many thousands of years before the bible was written)
